I am a native speaker of German (Austria) working as a full-time freelance translator and interpreter in Vienna, Austria. I began to work as a translator on a part-time basis in 2004 and in late 2009 I decided to enter the profession full-time.
My skills are based on a sound academic foundation. After completing a degree in Interpreting (German, English, Italian) at the University of Graz, Austria, I moved to Ireland to do a Ph. D. in Literary Translation at Dublin City University, which I completed in 2009. During this time, I was employed as a part-time lecturer in Terminology and German language at Dublin City University. After 8 years abroad I returned to my native Austria, where I currently live. |
