Consecutive Interpreting

In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter speaks after the source-language speaker has finished speaking. The speech is divided into segments and the interpreter listens and takes notes as the speaker progresses through the message. Consecutive interpreting is most appropriate for medium-sized gatherings, but can also be useful for larger gatherings with the aid of a microphone and speakers.

Liaison Interpreting

Liaison interpreting is mainly used for small business meetings (e.g. between two executives). A liaison interpreter can also be used as a chaperone for visits to a foreign country.
